Our Worship Values

Our Vision of Worship

Our goal, as a body of believers seeking a corporate worship experience, is to express God’s worth for He alone is worthy.

Rev. 4:11 You are worthy our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things and by your will they existed and were created.

The manifestation of that worship experience is:

  • Guided by the principles of freedom and truth. The freedom and spontaneity of the spirit and the truth of God revealed through word and deed.
John 4:23 …the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father seeks such as these to worship him.
  • Filled with joyful exuberant praise and holy reverence of a majestic God. We want to foster a worshipping community where the person who desires to dance for joy in the aisles and the one who wishes to bow their head in quiet contemplation can worship side-by-side with mutual respect and tolerance for one another.
Psalm 100:1-2 Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come into his presence with singing.
Psalm 99:5 Extol the Lord our God; worship at his footstool. Holy is he!
  • Seeking to engage the whole person through diverse and creative expressions of music, visual arts, drama, movement, fellowship, and congregational involvement. Our worship seeks to address the whole person and utilizes various creative media available to incarnate the presence of God in our midst.
Psalm 150:6 Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.
  • Striving toward authenticity through focus on the reason for worship and toward outreach in a winsome and open way. We want to help seekers see an experience of worship not by necessarily making that worship "acceptable" to them but by accepting those who seek. We invite people regularly to share a portion of their own faith journey as a way of addressing the post-modern need for genuineness and inviting others on that journey as well.
Psalm 95:6 O come let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before the Lord our God our maker!
  • Multi-faceted worship spanning generations, cultures, styles, yet led by the Holy Spirit and leading worshippers to glorify the Father and enjoy the presence of Jesus Christ. It is unhealthy, in our view, to fashion a worship experience that is a slave to one particular style. We seek to create an approach that captures variety and flexibility. Furthermore, we believe that children learn best how to worship when they are with the most influential adults in their lives and observing how they worship.
Acts 2:17 In the last days it will be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.
  • Inclusive of many elements including praise, confession, supplication and healing, teaching, ministry of the sacraments and giving of ourselves through service and offering. We highly value ministering to people through intercessory prayer.
Psalm 96:1- 4, 8 O sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord all the earth. Sing to the Lord, bless his name; tell of his salvation from day to day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples. For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; he is to be revered above all gods. Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; bring an offering, and come into his courts.
  • Enthralled by the mystery and power and presence of God. Even the aesthetics of our worship space is designed in such a way as to communicate as vividly as possible the awe-inspiring presence of God.
Romans11: 33-36 O the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of god! How unfathomable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways! “For who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor? Or who has given a gift to him, to receive a gift in return?” For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever. Amen.
